SUDDEN DEPARTURE SYNDROME
Lives can be cut shockingly short at any given time, with grieving families and friends left behind. Michael Jackson, the Haiti earthquake victims and those fallen as a consequence of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, are among the latest to succumb to sudden departure syndrome...the jury are out as to whether people had organized their lives before checking out

The September Eleven impact started the thinking about sharing this information; a devastating health diagnosis gave birth to the Book. and recent events like Air France Flight 447 over the coast of Brazil,  Michael Jackson, the Haitian victims, as well as others who suddenly departed from their  loved ones...
It was created to help us carry on with our lives when loved ones suddenly depart, or in the event that we depart suddenly, so that families and loved ones would have a road map.
In the book, testimonials are given by those who experienced the sudden departure of loved ones and who are now living their lives by enjoying each moment, thus organizing and living full lives.

“I had just seen my friend the day before and we had a great discussion going over old times.  He was just settling down into retirement and was planning a trip to his country in three months.  Imagine my surprise to learn the following day that he had died of a heart attack.  And the drama was that he lived alone in Canada, his wife was in California and his daughter in New York…and no one knew where he kept anything….” GM, Toronto, Canada

" I have been impressed by your article (book) entitled: " Sudden Departure Syndrome" and I am sharing it with other UN Staff Members of the Peace Keeping Mission in Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC) as well as with D.R.C. Government Institutions and bilingual Universities." JM, Congo

"very, very important especially for a retiree who lives alone" NT, formerly HABITAT, retired

It contains ten tips on how to organize our lives while we are still living and breathing, so that we can enjoy a full and exemplary life, free of worry of what would occur, what our families would confront, should we suddenly depart from the face of the earth.

Most important in accidents are dental records" JM, NJ

Most importantly, it reminds us that there will be a dash between the year of birth, and the year of our possible transition. This dash represents the time and our activities and accomplishments and experiences as we go through life.

As Abraham Maslow, Psychologist said “One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth.  Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”
